Wendell Moore Obituary

Moore, Wendell

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wendell Edison Moore of Hoyt, NB announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 13, 2024 at the age of 82 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.  He was the loving husband of Diane Greenough-Moore for over 20 years.

Along with his wife Diane, he is survived by children: Jennifer (Richard), Mike, Scott (Joanne) and Lori (Joel), grandchildren; Melanie, Ashley, Allison, Taylor and Greg and five great grandchildren.  Also, his sister Norma (Lester), two nieces Laura (Shawn) and Heidi (Christopher).  And of course, his beloved Boston Terrier Sophie.

Wendell had a love for farming and the outdoors.  He ran the family farm from a young age, right up until he was no longer able to.  He drove a delivery truck for Alexanders Mill for several years until retirement.  When Wendell and Diane got married, he gave Diane a unique wedding gift.  A donkey named Tessie.  Tessie has been a beloved member of the family for over 20 years.  She is a very vocal donkey, and the family would say she is spoiled and expects peppermints from all her visitors.

Wendell was predeceased by his first wife Geraldine and parents Ruby (Jewett) and Ralph Moore.

Respecting Wendell’s wishes, there will be a private family visitations and funeral.  Burial will be at a later date.

For those who wish, the family would appreciate any donations to the IWK or Hospice Fredericton in Wendell’s name.

Arrangements are in the Professional Care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (368-2413).
