Dolphus Joseph Russell

Russell, Dolphus Joseph (Nee Joseph Delphis Roussel)– With great sadness, the family of Dolphus Joseph Russell of Fredericton Junction, NB, announce his passing at White Rapids Manor on May 22, 2018.  Born in Lac-Au-Saumon, Quebec on October 20, 1928 to the late Therese Roussel (Drisdell) and Pierre Roussel. He was the husband for almost 70 years to the late Therese Russell who passed recently.

Dolphus was a sawyer at the F.C.Alexander Mill for more than 40 years.  After retirement, Dolphus turned his skill to woodworking.  He crafted many wood pieces for family and friends.  He especially enjoyed making items to donate to Dr. John in support of the Tri County Complex.  Dolphus made daily visits during the construction of the complex getting updates from long time employer and great friend Francis Alexander.

Dolphus is survived by four sons; Charlie (Kathleen), Wayne (Jean), Ricky (Lori), Larry, two sisters; Mable Caissie and Jane Gallant, three brothers; Walter (Germaine), Allen (Carolyn) and Roger, eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters–in-law; Alma (Harold) McDade and Florine Russell, daughter-in-law; Janet, brother-in-law Joe Conners and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife and parents, Dolphus is also predeceased by a son Doug, three brothers; Stanley, Norman and Roland, two sisters; Esther and Dorca Daigle and grand-daughter Tracey Lynn Therese Russell.

 Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville NB on Thursday May 24, 2018 for visitations between 2-4 and 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church on Friday May 25, 2018 at 10:00am with Father Martin Aputham officiating. Interment will be in St. Columba Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tri-County Complex, or to a charity of your choice.
