Doreen Sylvia (Madley) Edwards

Edwards, Doreen (Madley) – With great sadness, we announce the passing of Doreen Edwards, at White Rapids Manor on August 30, 2018. Doreen was born in Edmonton, AB on September 8, 1930 to the late Sylvia (Gibbon) Madley and Arthur Madley.  She was married to the late Jack Edwards for over 60 years who passed away in 2015.

Doreen was very dedicated to her family, was a wonderful home-maker, and enjoyed serving others.  She was a Registered Nurse and worked at White Rapids Manor for many years.  She and Jack moved to Tracy from Scarborough in 1983. Doreen was very committed to her church and had a weekly bible study in her house each Thursday morning.

Doreen is survived by a daughter, Susan (John) Morton, Barrie ON., sons; Kent (Nola) Edwards, California, Greg (Betty-Jo) Edwards, Tracy, adopted son, Daniel (Margaret) Edwards, Kitchener, ON, nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was pre-deceased by her son, Joseph “Scott” Edwards, a sister Evelyn Swash, a brother Ronald Madley and daughter in law, Bonnie Daly.

Funeral service will be at St. Marks Anglican Church on Friday September 7, 2018 at 11am with Rev. James Appleton officiating. In lieu of visitations, there will be a reception following the committal in St. Marks Anglican Cemetery. If you wish, donations may be made in Doreen’s memory to; St. Marks Anglican Church, White Rapids Manor, or a charity of donor’s choice.
