George (Joe) Samuel Charlton

Charlton, George (Joe) Samuel – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George (Joe) Samuel Charlton of Hoyt NB on July 9, 2018. Joe was born on November 13, 1953 to the late Allen and Irene (Burton) Charlton.

Joe is survived by his wife of 33 years Barbara (Hogan) Charlton, and one son Scott (Lesley) of Hoyt, Granddaughters Haily and Blake. He is also survived by his siblings Debbie (Charlie) Easton, Gary (Shirley) Charlton, Sister in laws Judy and Linda, along with several nieces and nephews.

Joe is predeceased by his parents, siblings Harry, Frances and David; Brother in law Dale Perkins, mother in law and father in law Arthur and Doreen Hogan and sister in law Phyllis Parker.

Growing up and working in the Hoyt area, Joe worked with Myles and Harry in the woods. Worked at the Irving Nature Park in the early years and then as Boom Truck Operator with the bridge crew for the Department of Transportation.

 Joe spent many hours in his garage tinkering with vehicles, refinishing antique furniture, watching Nascar on tv, listening to music, sitting by the fire having a drink and smoking his cigars. Joe’s door was always open for friends and family.

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville NB on Wednesday July 11, 2018 for visitations between 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home on Thursday July 12, 2018 at 10am with Rev. Susan Gamblin officiating. Interment will be at Patterson United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fredericton Hospice.
