Ida May (McLaughlin) Nason

Nason, Ida May. It is with sadness, that the family of Ida May Nason (McLaughlin) of Central Blissville announce her passing on July 5th at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital after a brief illness.  Born on March 14, 1942, Ida was the daughter of the late Byron and Pearl McLaughlin.  Ida was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Ross Nason as well as by her brothers Harry and Billy McLaughlin.  Ida is survived by her son Philip Nason (Ella) and daughter Lisa Tinnion (Sean), three grandsons Zach Tinnion, Patrick Tinnion, and Jacob Nason, her siblings June Deegan (Mike), Debbie Davenport (Randy) and Bob McLaughlin (Kathy) as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Ida grew up in Central Blissville and moved to Saint John during the early years of her marriage and returned to "the Junction" when her children were young.   She worked in the Food Services Unit at the White Rapids Manor for several years.  Ida was involved in her community and her cooking (oh my, the brown sugar fudge) was in demand at community events. 

Ida was the oldest child in her family and she looked out for her siblings.  She loved being a grandmother and her three grandsons benefited from her unconditional love and support and will cherish the role she played in their lives. 

 Ida was in good health and continued to enjoy adventures with her extended family until the last few months of her life.  Mere words cannot express the hole that she leaves in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home on Tuesday July 10,  from 2-4 and 6-8 pm  A celebration of her life will be held at Patterson United Church in Wirral on Wednesday at 11 am with Rev. Susan Gamblin officiating.   A private burial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tri-County Complex in Fredericton Junction or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Condolences: sunburyfuneralhome.com
