To Bill & Family:
Sorry to hear of your untimely loss. She was a lovely person and great friend.

Karen, thank for your friendship and all your hard work all those years ago when you typed my thesis for me! Yes, I know my handwriting was atrocious and grammar terrible --- but you just teased me and smiled -- and helped me make it so much better! A true teacher all the way.

To Karen's family, may God give you comfort at this time of sorrow. Karen used to babysit my two girls Julie and Holly Moore, she was a beautiful, loving individual, always a big smile on her face. Rest in Peace Karen.

Dear Jo-Ellen & Joe
I was so very sorry to hear of Sassie's passing. I have many fond childhood memories of celebrating special occasions and just visiting "Joey & Sassie's" house both in Ottawa and in Hoyt. I don't think it was until I was well into my 20's that I knew what Sassie's given name was.

Even in our teens, I was in awe of Karen's strong work ethic. She worked on farms in the summers and for long, long hours and always seemed to enjoy the work.

My deepest sympathies to you both and to Bill and her sons.
Love,
Nancy

I had the fortune of getting to know Karen in Norway House when we both taught at the high school there. She was always on the go, running her classes, preparing lunches for the school cafeteria, knitting sweater after sweater, baking, and of course caring for her family, whom she loved dearly. A most kind, and generous person, she enriched the lives of all who came on contact with her. Every time I pick up my knitting needles I think of her. Our loss is heaven's gain. I will release a Monarch butterfly in her honour in July.
