Leo Ernest Knorr

April 16, 1930 ~ October 31, 2017 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Knorr, Leo Ernest– It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the passing of Leo Knorr of Hoyt. He passed away on October 31, 2017 at the White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction NB at the age of 87.

Leo is survived by; His daughters Gaye Kirkpatrick (Wayne) and Cathy Carr (Jeff), His sons Gerald Knorr (Kathy) and Robert Knorr (Misty Lovely), and his sister Betty Flowers (Kenny Simpson). He is also survived by his Grand children; Sarah (Gary) Huggard, David (Tracey) Kirkpatrick, Daniel (Holly) Kirkpatrick, Stephen (Asia Cormier) Kirkpatrick, Mike (Sarah) Knorr, Corey (Amanda) Knorr, Kristy (Alex) Schmidt, Brandon Carr, Ryan Knorr, and Hanna Knorr Alexa Lovely-Jones and Kaelynn Jones. His Great Grandchildren; Madeline and Shane Huggard, Ethan Knorr, Braxton and Corbin Kirkpatrick, Daisy Kirkpatrick and Jordon Schmidt. As well as several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife Alberta Knorr (Worden), his parents, Alma Charlton and Ernest Knorr of Hoyt NB, and his 2 brothers, Laurence and Kenneth Knorr, and cousin Arva Charlton.

Leo spent his life working for Forestry Canada as a firefighter and CP Rail as a Bridgeman.

Leo could always be found working in his woodlot and tinkering around his home. He had a special love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. During his time at the nursing home his eyes would light up when they would come to visit.

For a number of years he was a Church Warden for St. Luke’s Anglican Church and Caretaker of the cemetery.

Leo had a love for going to the Hoyt Ball field to watch his children and grandchildren play softball.

 Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2nd for visitations between 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  Funeral Service will be held at the St. Luke’s Anglican Church on Friday November 3rd, 2017 at 11am with Bishop George Lemmon officiating. Interment will be at the St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Luke’s Church or the cemetery, or to a charity of your choice.
