Mildred Kirkpatrick-MacGougan Obituary

MacGougan, Mildred (Millie)-  The family regretfully announces the passing of their dear mother, Mildred Marie Graham Kirkpatrick MacGougan on January 30th. 2019.  She was surrounded with love and prayers from so many. Rev Susan Gamblin, Rose and Laverne MacGougan and dedicated nurses accompanied her toward her final journey. 


Mildred (Millie) was born in Juvenile NB to Burton Graham and Edith Flowers Graham on Dec. 15th, 1917.  She was pre deceased by her parents and her husbands,  Grant Kirkpatrick  in 1960 , and by her second husband David MacGougan in 1994.  Both men died tragically. 

 Millie was also pre deceased by her siblings -Margery (Fred) Harris, Hazen (Beryl) Graham   and Allan Graham. 

 Millie is survived by her son Derald (Shirley), grandchildren, Aubrey(Kimberly), Patricia (Michael)Dixon,  Maureen(Tory)Cassis, great grandchildren, Chloe & Hunter Kirkpatrick, Liam and Drew Dixon and Cole Cassis.

Millie is survived by her stepson Laverne (Rose) MacGougan, grandchildren; Barbara(Winston) Harris, Angela(Blaine) Godin,  great grandchildren Robin & Carter Harris, Gracelyn & Isabella Godin.

 Millie is survived by her step daughter Caroline MacGougan, grandchildren Andrea (Norman) Maisoneuve, great grandchildren, Spencer & Josh Maisoneuve, Lee Gratton, and son and a sister in law Ferne Andow. 

Millie is survived by many well loved nieces and nephews of the Graham and Kirkpatrick line and of her MacGougan family 

 Millie faithfully attended the Patterson United Church all her life. She was a member of the Juvenile and Patterson United Church.  She attended Sunday school, was a member of the UCW and Ladies Aid, 

 She was a proud supporter of the Kirkpatrick Heritage site.  She was an avid gardener.  She maintained her gardens and lawns and home by herself well into her late seventies.  Millie loved music. She played a mean accordion and step danced into her 100th year.     

Visiting hours will be at Sunbury Funeral Home in Blissville, NB, Friday February 1st, 2019 from 2-5pm.   Funeral service to be held at the Patterson United Church, Rte 101 , Hoyt, NB on Saturday February 2, 2019at 1pm. Refreshments to follow in the church hall. Internment will be in the spring. 

Memorials will be gratefully received for the Care and Maintenance of the Patterson United Church  Cemetery  in Hoyt, NB.  Arrangements are in the professional care of Sunbury Funeral Home, (368-2413). Condolences: sunburyfuneralhome.com
