Shirley Edith (Shannon) Reid

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Shirley Edith Reid announce her passing on September 12, 2018, at her home in Fredericton N.B., surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley who was born on October 27, 1943, in Enniskillen, N.B, was the 14th child of the late Edith (McDevitt) and James Shannon.

Surviving are her loving husband of 50 year, Norman Reid; one sister, Doreen Lingley; three brothers, Greg Shannon (Bev), George Shannon, and Charlie (Coleen) Shannon; brother in laws, Hubert Reid (Florence), Dale (Elaine) Reid and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Shirley was predeceased by her infant son, Robert William Reid; sisters, Lena McCann (Ken), Mary Mallett (Edward), Theresa Livingston (Harold), Pauline Simpson (Albert), Rosie Shannon, Estelle Shannon; brothers, William, Johnny, Patrick and Francis (Mildred); sister in law Doris Shannon and brother in law Jerry Lingley.

Family played a very important role in Shirley’s life and she will deeply be missed at holiday and family dinners which were held at her nephew, Darrell and Sharon Shannon’s home. 

Visitations will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home on Sunday September 16, 2018 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm. The funeral mass will be held on Monday September 17, 2018, 11am at the Fredericton Junction St. Columba Catholic Church.
