William DeLucry Obituary

DeLucry, William (Bill) Joseph, It is with profound sadness that the family of William (Bill) Joseph DeLucry announces his passing on May 16, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, NB.

Born January 31, 1935 in Fredericton, NB; he was the son of the late Harold and Helen (Wade) DeLucry. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and was educated at the Oromocto Superior School. Bill retired in 1995 as Deputy Chief with the Oromocto Fire Department serving 36 years.

Bill excelled in sports and was inducted into the Oromocto and Area Sports Wall of Fame (Bowling), the Marysville Sports Wall of Fame (Bowling) and the City of Fredericton Sports Wall of Fame (Softball). He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He loved working away in his garden and always kept his lawn well manicured. Most mornings were spent having coffee with his friends at Tim Horton’s in the Oromocto Mall.

Bill is survived by his wife Bonita (McHarg) DeLucry, Sons; Dean (Susan), Dale (Jen) and David. Grandchildren; Dylan, Clayton, Benjamin  Alexander, step-grandchildren Brianna, and Austin. Surviving siblings; Peggy Langis, Marlene (Gaston) Schetagne and Marie (Andrew) Cormier and several Nieces and Nephews.

Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his sister Geraldine Ogden, brother James DeLucry and nephew Bryan DeLucry.

Keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. There will be a private mass and graveside service at a later date.

Donations in Bills memory can be made the Oromocto SPCA or a charity of your choice.
