It is with heavy hearts that the family of Cyril Penney of Fredericton Junction, NB announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital  on April 13, 2023.  Cyril was born in Holyrood, NFLD on August 18, 1933, to the late Margaret (Barron) and John Penney.  He was the loving husband of Joan (McMahon) Penney for over 62 years.

Along with his wife Joan, Cyril is survived by his five children and their children: Deborah & Wayne Carlson, Devin, Julie and Hunter, David & Tanya Penney, Brittany and Chris Shaw, Amanda Penney & Kevin Boutin, Norah, grandchild Kevin, Chris & Angela Penney, Karen Lomond Penney, Catherine, Chelsea, Brandon, Ben and Justin, Shelley & Dana Golding, Henry.  His brother Ray (Lorraine) Penney, a special niece Patricia (Armondo) Gusman, and their two sons Peter and Julian, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Cy joined the Royal Bank of Canada in his hometown of St. Johns, Newfoundland in September of 1951.  Working in many communities there before being transferred to Cornwall Ontario in 1957.  He was then transferred to Montreal Quebec, then Canterbury NB and finally to Fredericton Junction NB in 1974 where he retired in September 1990 after serving with the Bank for 39 years.

Besides his parents, Cyril is predeceased by brothers Edward and Kevin, sisters Hilda and Eileen, and a son-in-law Robert Lomond.

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, NB for Visitations on Monday April 17, 2023 from 5-8pm.  A private Memorial Service will be at a later date
