Nason, (Johnston), Dorothy
With heavy hearts the family of Dorothy Marill (Johnston) Nason sadly announces her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on November 16, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was born May 5, 1934 in Maugerville Parish, NB, to the late Hazel (McCoy) and Glen Johnston. She was the loving wife of the late Clair F Nason.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her daughters; Pearl Nowlan, Gail (Mark) Gillett, Marilyn (Lennie) Falconer, Linda (Linwood) Smith and Carol (Kelvin) Charlton, sons; Glynn (Sheila) and Thomas (Lorraine) Nason, eleven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren.
After raising a large family, Dorothy worked for Canada Post, retiring after 17 years. She enjoyed many years as a volunteer for the Hoyt Fire Department and was honored to serve as President for the Women’s Auxiliary, for a period of those years. She took pride in her cooking and baking skills and in later years had a passion for puzzling.
Special thanks to her homemakers, especially Stephanie Barnes for making it possible for Dorothy to remain in her home for her lifetime.
Dorothy is predeceased by her daughter-in-law Linda Nason and son-in-law Shawn Nowlan.
Keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, the arrangements are private. For those who wish, donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Patterson United Cemetery in Hoyt or the Heart and Stroke foundation.
