Eldon Howe Obituary

Eldon Lavernon Howe

The family of Eldon Howe wish to announce his passing on June 6, 2026.  Eldon was born March 19, 1943 in Saint John, NB to the late Bessie (Roberts) and Ernest Howe.  He was a faithful husband to Lora Howe for over 26 years.

Along with Lora, Eldon will be dearly missed by his two daughters; Judy (Jamie) Hicks and Joanne Howe, his son Jeffrey (Robyn) Howe, two sisters; Nellie Schmidt and Ida Sprague, two brothers; Douglas Howe and Donald Roberts, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind two adoring pups.

Eldon loved his family and his two pups.  He served God for over 60 years.  Eldon worked in the woods since the age of 16, became an expert skidder driver.  His Happy Place was his camp out in South Branch.  When he wasn’t fishing and hunting, he was very content to just sit on the porch at the camp and watch the water flow by.

Including Eldon’s parents, he is also predeceased by sisters; Bernice Murphy, Ruby Galbraith, Mary Bone, Della Shea, Marion Harris, Marguerite Whittaker and Hellen (David) Vaughan, as well as his brother George Howe.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations made in Eldon’s name to the Calvary Pentecost Lighthouse or the Victory Tabernacle Bus Ministry.

A Funeral Service will take place at the Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse in Hoyt NB on Thursday June 11th, 2026 at 1pm with Reverend’s Blake Roy and George Nixon officiating.  Interment will follow in the Patterson United Church Cemetery.  Eldon and Lora’s  church family  would like to invite family and friends to a reception after the burial.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (506-368-2413). www.sunburyfuneralhome.com
