It is with heavy hearts that the family of Freeman Charles Gillett of Hoyt, NB announce his passing at White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction, NB on August 13, 2022, at the age of 83.  Freeman is the son of the late Jessie (Wilson) and Fred Gillett.  He was the loving husband of the late Rose Gillett.

Freeman is survived by his daughters; Wanda Harding (Duane), Terri Coulombe (Yves) and Sally Gillett, a brother Carl Gillett (Rowena), ten grandchildren; Melissa, Keely, Denise, Ashlee, Kyle, Khristal, Amy and Tony, great grandchildren; Austin, Maya, Logan, Illienne, Dawyson, Leighlin, Thatcher, Kacey, Logan, Hunter, Colten, Kashden, Teagan, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Freeman’s girls would say that he was the Best Father, he loved to take his girls driving the back roads, much to Rose’s disgust.  He worked for CP Rail for over 34 years as a Train dispatcher and Telegrapher.  He loved all things trains, loved to tour the various stations and attended many reunions.  Anyone that knew Freeman, knew he loved to laugh, have fun and tease people.  Him and Rose loved to drive around and enjoy wildflowers and the changes in the scenery over the seasons.  He was very creative, making up silly songs to entertain people, they were not always appropriate, but he enjoyed making people laugh.  He was also a member of the Masons Sunbury Lodge in Fredericton Junction.

Along with his parents and wife, Freeman is predeceased by a infant daughter Anne Gillett, his sister Bessie Hiltz and brother-in-law Joshua Hiltz.

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville for Visitations on Thursday August 18, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  The Funeral Service will be on Friday August 19, 2022 at 2pm at Sunbury Funeral Home. Following the service, the burial will be at Blissville Cemetery.  The family would appreciate donations to the Blissville Cemetery in Freemans name or a charity of their choice.
