Helen Marr Obituary

Helen Annie Marr (King). It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Marr of New Maryland, NB announce her passing on June 20, 2021 at the White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction. Helen was born in Sussex, NB on April 29, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Jennie May (Colwell) and Colin King.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hall-Kay (Sam) of Beaverdam, son, Arthur Hall of Saint John, sister, Edna Ross(Don) of Collingwood Ontario. Five grandchildren;  Lindsay Kay (James), Jennifer Kay(Brenden), Mackenzie Kay, Patrick Kay(Bree), Andre Chimouline of Alberta, two sisters-in-law; Joanne King of Winnepeg , Mary Lou King of Penticton, close friend Judy Rathburn, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her brothers James King and William King, and sisters Evelyn Christian and Marion Parlee.

Helen worked in the accounting department of Irving Head Office in Saint John for 25 years. She travelled to many dart and shuffle board tournaments as a member of the Legion team. After retirement she relocated to New Maryland. She was a very social person. She became involved in Victoria Hall card games, New Maryland quilting group, Silver Dolphins swimming group, volunteered at Oromocto Public Hospital gift shop, and could be seen at countless craft sales with her knitting, and quilting.

Visitations will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville NB on Thursday June 24, 2021 from 11- 12:30 pm. A private funeral will be held Thursday at 2pm at New Maryland United Church. Interment to follow service in the River Bank Cemetery, Norton. For those that wish, donations may be to the Alzheimer’s Society, Riverbank Cemetery, or donor’s choice.

Covid-19 rules and guidelines of Public Health are in place, please wear a mask and  respect social distancing.
