Ila Christine (Smith) Parker. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ila Parker of Hoyt, NB announce her passing on May 10, 2026 at the Fredericton Hospice. Ila was born in Fredericton Junction, NB on April 2, 1954 to the late Wilma (Hoyt) and Everett Smith. Ila was the loving common law wife of Ronald Knorr for over 45 years.
Along with Ronald, Ila will also be missed by her daughter Paula (Greg) Mott, her sons; Steven (Leshelle Spurrell) Parker and Anthony Knorr, a sister Debbie Kelly, two brothers; Butch (Pam) and Marty (Bonnie) Smith, three grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips, Aaron Phillips and Hunter Knorr, three great grandchildren; Alexis, Zoey and Leah, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and good friends.
Ila was a family person; she loved her children and grandchildren greatly. She loved spending time with them outdoors, such as cutting and splitting wood. She took great pride in her home and yard, wanting everything to be neat and tidy. She was truly passionate about drinking coffee, there was always a pot on day or night, at times she had 2 pots on the go. Everyone in the community knew they could stop at Ila and Ron’s place for coffee anytime of the day.
Including Ila’s parents, she was also predeceased by a brother Bruce Smith.
Ila’s wish is to have a private Graveside Service.
Arrangements are in the professional care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (506-368-2413). www.sunburyfuneralhome.com
