Wheaton, Irene Frances (Kupkee) – Surrounded by her family Irene Wheaton passed away peacefully at White Rapids Manor on November 28, 2015. Irene was born on February 5, 1920 in Clarendon, NB. She was the daughter of the late Ellen (Lacey) and George Kupkee. She was also predeceased by her husband George Henry Wheaton.
Irene worked at Irving Oil for 4 years and Ven-Mar Eggs for 7 years. She was a member of the Patterson United Church and the Fredericton Junction Craft Guild.
Irene is survived by one daughter Lois (Roy) McAleer, three sons; Clayton (Berneata) of Kanata ON, Richard (Rosalind) of Gagetown NB and Garry (Judith) of Central Blissville NB, one sister Hazel (Bill) MacDonald of New Glasgow NS, 15 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, 15 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Irene is predeceased by one daughter Nancy Elizabeth Wheaton, one sister Evelyn Scribner and one brother Harold Kupkee.
A memorial service will be held at the Patterson United Church on Sunday December 6, 2015 at 2pm with Rev. Susan Gamblin officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at the Hill Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Patterson United Church. Arrangements are in the care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Blissville NB.
