Rossignol, Jeannette
It is with great sadness our family wishes to announce the passing of Jeannette Jeanne (Dubé) Rossignol on Saturday January 10, 2026 at the age of 102 at White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction, NB. Jeannette was born on March 3, 1923 to the late Anna (Albert) and Abel Dubé. She was the faithful wife of the late Simon Rossignol who passed away in 1980.
Jeannette lived a truly great life, not just because of its length, but because of how deeply and intentionally she lived it. Family was always at the center of her world. She was a devoted wife and mother to her four children; Bertin, Maurice and Raymond (Fern) Rossignol and, Dianne (Gaston) Martin, and she took immense pride in each of them. Being a mother was not just a role for her; it was a calling she embraced with joy and dedication. Jeannette is also survived by her sister, Laurie Ann Higgins and sister in law Madeline Dube.
That devotion only grew as her family expanded. She was a loving grandmother to Marie, Amanda, Curtis, Mellissa & Derrik Rossignol. Jacques, Julie, and Janie Martin, and a proud great-grandmother to many more. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, followed their lives closely, and celebrated their accomplishments as if they were her own. Few things made her happier than knowing her family was thriving.
Jeannette was a woman of many interests and talents. She loved to play cards — and anyone who ever sat at the table with her knew she took the game seriously. If you were her partner and made a mistake, she wouldn’t let it slide — she would tell you, honestly and directly. It was all part of her sharp mind, her passion for the game, and her wonderful sense of humor.
She found peace and joy in nature, especially in her flower gardens, which she tended with care and pride. She also loved to travel, always curious about the world and eager to experience new places and memories. Her curiosity and independence never faded with age.
Jeannette was well educated and deeply valued hard work. She worked as an accountant for Multi Ventures, and she was proud of her career and the contributions she made there. Her professionalism, intelligence, and dedication were evident in everything she did. She also valued her friendships greatly, maintaining meaningful connections throughout her life.
Above all, Jeannette was kind. She had a natural ability to see the positive in people and in situations. She carried herself with dignity, took pride in her appearance, and lived with quiet confidence and strength. She was someone people admired, not because she demanded attention, but because she earned respect through who she was.
A very special and heartfelt thank you is owed to Jeannette’s Goddaughter Dianne and her husband Robert Peterson, whose love, dedication, and tireless care meant so much to Jeannette in her later years. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to White Rapids Manor for the compassion, kindness, and exceptional care they provided. Their support brought comfort not only to Jeannette, but to our entire family, and we will be forever grateful.
Jeannette leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, family, and integrity. Her life reminds us of the importance of staying engaged, staying kind, and cherishing the people around us. Though she will be deeply missed, her influence lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
We are grateful for her 102 years, for the memories she gave us, and for the example she set. Rest peacefully, Jeannette. Your life was well lived, and your love will remain with us always.
Besides her husband Simon, Jeannette was also predeceased by her sons Bertin and Maurice Rossignol, three sisters; Mathilda (John) Delisa, Azilda (Artur) Dubé and Anne (Roger) Duquette, a brother George Dubé and a brother-in-law Dale Higgins.
