John Herbert Edwards

Edwards, John Herbert – With great sadness, we announce the passing of  John (Jack) Edwards, at the Oromocto Public Hospital on February 25, 2015. Jack was born and raised in Toronto, ON on November 4, 1929 to the late Ida Britton and Joseph Edwards.

Jack graduated as a Mechanical Engineer and went on to be head of engineering for Sunnybrook Medical Center in Toronto. Jack moved his family to New Brunswick in the 1980’s and open up Edwards Rebuilding Service in Tracy. More recently, he offered his time and engineering experience in the building of Tri-County Complex. Jack also facilitated a men’s group at his church, and was very admired and respected by the many men who attended.      

Jack is survived by his wife of  60  years, Doreen (Madley) Edwards,  daughter, Susan (John) Morton, Barrie ON. Sons; Kent(Nola) Edwards, California, Greg (Betty-Jo)Edwards, Tracy, Jack's adopted son, Daniel (Margaret) Edwards, Mississauga, sister, Shirley Brown, nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by his son, Joseph “Scott” Edwards and daughter in law, Bonnie Edwards, and his special aunt, Muriel Ockley.

Visitations will take place at St. Marks Anglican Church in Tracy, on Monday March 2, 2015 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.  Funeral service will also be at St. Marks Anglican Church on Tuesday March 3 at 11am with Bishop George Lemmon officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill McMullen. Interment will be in St. Marks Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
