MacAdams, Joseph Allen. On March 21, 2021, at the age of 89, Joseph Allen MacAdams of Oromocto passed away at the Enhanced Living Special Care Home in Oromocto, NB with wife Connie and daughter Jeanette by his side. Joe was born in Liverpool NS on December 16, 1931, to the late Agnes (Feener) and Russell MacAdams.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 69 years, Constance (Freeman) MacAdams, daughter Jeanette Moquin (Edward) of Geary, son Michael (Sandra) of Halifax , sister Ada Frank, Port Joli, NS, four grandchildren; Angela St. Nicolaas, Russell Moquin(Colleen ), Lisa MacAdams, Joey MacAdams, five great grandchildren; Emily, Owen, Sophie, Devin, Rowan, his sister in law Jeanett Gaston Middleton, NS, brother in law David Dicks (Donna) Hunts Point NS, Joe also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, his honorary nephew Gordie Williams of Shelburn , NS, all his friends from the church choir and church Men’s Club.
Along with his parents, Joseph is also predeceased by his identical twin brother Rollie and grandson Russell.
Joseph was a very kind, patient person, he enlisted in the Canadian Forces at a young age where he was a service member of the 2nd Battalion Black Watch and 2PPCLI, doing a tour in Cyprus. He was posted with his family to Germany for 2 tours. Retiring as an Instructor at CFB Cornwallis, NS. Joe found a new career as a cook on the big fishing boats off Grand Banks, NFLD for 20 years. He was a Lifetime Member of the RC Legion Branch 93 and Branch 38, Black Watch Association; he was very active in the Patterson United Church, the men’s choir, and men’s club, and along with other men in the church started a monthly breakfast, feeding the community for over 20 years. His other passions were gardening, hunting, fishing and cooking, but not pies, Connie made the pies! Joe was well known for his baked beans!
Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home, for visitations on Wednesday, March 31, from 1 pm to 3 pm
We regret, however, that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the funeral service will be by invitation only. Interment will be in the Patterson United Church Cemetery. Should you wish, Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to Patterson United Church Memorial Fund or Hospice Fredericton.
