After a remarkable 95 years Ken passed away peacefully on December 27th 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, N.B. A lifelong resident of Fredericton Junction, he had resided at Barrie’s Special Care Home, Nasonworth for the past fourteen months.
Ken was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie (Tracy) in 1973 and his second wife Beryl (Norrad) in 2005. as well as by his parents Gilbert and Elizabeth Tracy, his sister Gertrude and brothers Herman and Garnet.
He is survived by his daughters Katrine Malfair (George) Kamloops, B.C., Harriet Sinden (David) Ottawa,ON, son Roland Tracy (Magda) Brampton, ON and daughter-in-law Patricia Tracy (Ball) of Kitchener, ON. He enjoyed his time with his grand children Holly, Bradley, Tracy, Christopher, Deanne, Kyle,Kessia, Christopher,and Shelly and a multitude of great-grand children. He is survived also by his step daughter Kathy Rush, step-son Roger Norrad and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken was a faithful member of the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church and the Sunbury Lodge #42 F & AM. He was a devoted family man and a friend to everyone who knew him. In his retirement he was an avid walker and he enjoyed travelling the village paths for as long as he was physically able.
Born in Creelman, Saskatchewan on April 27, 1918 his family moved East when Ken was 8 years old. He served his entire career with the N B Power Commission (now NB Power) where he retired after 42 years in 1983. He then enjoyed gardening, reading and travelling to family gatherings.
Friends and relatives are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville to pay respects to family on Monday December 30, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held at Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church, on Tuesday December 31 at 3pm. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in Ken’s memory can be made to the White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction, the Fredericton Junction United Baptist Church Fund or the charity of your choice.
