Lester Nason Obituary

Lester Eugene Nason

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lester (Bucky) Eugene Nason of Tracy, NB announce his peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on January 24. 2026. Lester was born on April 26, 1947 in Tracy, NB.  He was the son of the late Sadie (Blackmore) and George Nason. Lester was the husband to Murielle (Aubin) Nason for over 60 years.

Along with Murielle, Bucky will be missed by his two daughters, Linda Nason (Mike) and Lisa (Shawn) Marcoux; two sons, James (Belinda) and Jason (Amanda) Nason; two sisters, Doris Robison and Esther (Ronnie) Woodworth; and three brothers, Stafford, Randy (Annie), and Errol (Dorothy) Nason. He will also be missed by his twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.

Bucky’s greatest joy in life was his family. A smile could always be found on his face when family gathered on the porch for a visit or during a good, competitive game of 63’s.
He took great pride in his work, beginning his career with M.E. Phillips in road construction. He later moved to Ontario, where he worked on the Welland Canal, before returning to New Brunswick. Upon his return, he worked as a mechanic for Dale Aubin, then went on to work for J.D. Irving as a forestry equipment operator. He finished his working career with NB Power, working on the high lines.

In addition to his parents, Lester was predeceased by his sisters Marjorie Alexander, Rose Kelly and Velma (Dale) Aubin; half-sister Beulah Mersereau; brothers Stuart, Francis, and Byron Nason; and half-brothers Smith, Perley, and Travis Nason.

“A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me.  Remember the best times, the laughter, the song,  The good life I lived when I was strong.”

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Lester’s Life on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gladstone Mission Church, with Rev. Stephen Aubin officiating. Interment will take place in the spring.

Arrangements are in the professional care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (506-368-2413). www.sunburyfuneralhome.com
