Obituary

Perkins, Lillian

It is with great sadness that the family of Lillian announce her passing on June 16, 2023. After a brief illness, and with her daughters by her side, she passed at the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital at the age of 100. Lillian, of Hoyt, was born in Sandbrook, NB on May 23, 1923 to the late Elizabeth (Whittaker) and Estey Kirkpatrick. She was the loving wife of Wallace Perkins for over 61 years. Lily was the last remaining family member of her immediate family.

Lillian is survived by three daughters; Faye Charlton, Faith (Elwood) Mean and Fonda (Richard) Inman; six grandchildren; Karen (Steven) Cliff, Mark (Patty) Charlton, Paige (Justin) Beesley, Abbey (Marcus) Beesley, Tony (Anika) Inman and Caroline (Justin) Jackson, twelve great-grandchildren; Amber and Chelsea Cliff, Eldora Charlton, Simon and Jesse Beesley, Noah, Clara and Jonah Inman, Grace and Whitaker Beesley, Brady and Brock Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.

Lily was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She guided her family in a gentle manner and made it her duty to hold her family up in prayer every day. She was a faithful member of the Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse and served as a Sunday School secretary for many years. At the age of 18, Lily learned the art of weaving on a floor loom. She was then commissioned by the Gagetown Loomcrofters and produced many woven pieces such as tartan fabrics including Royal Canadian Air Force tartan.

Along with her husband and parents, Lillian is predeceased by her brother Ross (Lois) Kirkpatrick, sisters; Erma Kirkpatrick, Viola (John) Darrah, Ella (Percy and Cedric) Kirkpatrick, Opal (Donald and Glen) Edgar, and Ruth (Lloyd) Reid as well as a son-in-law Gerald Charlton.

Special thanks to her homemakers and Oromocto Extra Mural, who spent many hours caring for Lily, making it possible for her to remain in her home for her lifetime. Thanks also to Dr. Paulin and his staff.

Family would appreciate any donations made in Lillian’s name to the Calvary Pentecostal Lighthouse, Patterson Historical Society, or the Patterson United Church Cemetery.
