MacPherson, Malcolm
With heavy hearts, the family of Malcolm Harold MacPherson of beautiful downtown Fredericton Junction wish to announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 19, 2023. He was born on February 11, 1950 to the late Wesley and Martha (Cook). He was married to Margo for 24 years.
Along with Margo, he is survived by his children, Rhonda (Troy), Ian (Samantha), Kathryn (Wesley), Matthew (Karla), Tina and Holly (Trenton). He adored his grandchildren Alessandra, Belladonna, Bart, Avah, Emily, Zackary and Jameson.
To list his careers, this page is not long enough.. After a short military career and various other ventures, ranging from real estate to auctioneering, he settled into his true passion of being a restauranteur. He was known far and wide for his fish & chips, cheeseburgers, donuts and preserves. He loved nothing more than a late night BBQ, telling stories (some true, some questionable), “hunting” and spending time at the camp. He would gladly show any child a “new way to eat that” or a rousing game of Fly Away Blackbird.
He is also survived by his sister, Donna McLaughlin (late Glen), brother Robert John Cooke (Rita) and sister in law, Ardith MacPherson, mother in law, Jeannine, sister in law, Francine (Murray) as well as many treasured nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brothers John (Jack) and Claude.
He is where we learned compassion, empathy and humor. His love for community was shown by his generosity and inclusiveness. He was a proud Shriner and Freemason.
He will be cremated, and a private family celebration will be held at a later date.
The family would appreciate any donations in Malcolm’s name made to the Fredericton Food Bank.
Arrangements are in the Professional Care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, NB (368-2413). Condolences:sunburyfuneralhome.com
