Murray William Lewis

Lewis, Murray William The family of Murray Lewis of Fredericton, NB wish to announce his passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 8, 2022.  Murray was born in Hoyt, NB on September 7, 1937 to the late Elsie (Moore) and Gerald Lewis.  He was the loving husband of Nancy (Allen) Lewis for over 65 years.

Along with his wife Murray is survived by their children Peter (Lisa), Pam and Ian; grandchildren Stacey, Jeffrey, Ryan, Meghan, Kate, Michael, and MacKenzie; great grandchildren Vance, Brice, Alexandria and Jason; sisters Elizabeth (Jean-Claude) LeBlanc and Heather (Loran) Buckley; step-sister Linda (Gary) MacGougan and step-brothers William (Elaine) Humble and Charlie Duplisea; sister-in-laws Esther Breau and Peggy Allen; nieces,nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents Murray was predeceased by his brother-in-laws Robert Breau and Bryce Allen.

Murray was a life member of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors having worked in NB, BC and AB, along with service in the RCAF. He worked tirelessly in many pursuits and rested on Sundays. A solemn and quiet man, he was known for many community contributions. In his spare time, he enjoyed the art of making maple syrup, growing Christmas trees, and taking family vacations.  

Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, NB on Tuesday March 15, 2022 from 4-7pm.   Funeral service will be at the Patterson United Church on Wednesday March 16, 2022 at 2pm with Rev. Ron Curtis officiating.  Interment will be in the spring. For those who wish, donations to the Gladstone Cemetery or The Patterson Historical Society would be appreciated by the family.

At this time, for Visitations and the Funeral Service, we will be asking visitors to wear masks.
