It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen Andrew MacGougan announce his sudden passing at The Saint John Regional Hospital on July 2, 2023.    Stephen was born in Saint John, NB on May 14, 1966, to Linda (Humble) and Gary MacGougan.

Along with his parents Linda and Gary MacGougan, Stephen will be greatly missed by his daughter Shelby MacGougan, two sisters; Nicole Rice and Peggy (Eldon) MacGougan-MacDonald.  aunts and uncles; Liz and J.C., Heather and Loran, Bill and Elaine, niece and nephews; Dakota, Alex, Cayden and Kyler.

Stephen was a kind and fun person; he loved to entertain others and make them laugh.  His passion was playing the guitar, but he could also play the keyboard and drums.  He played in a band called Sidekick in his younger days.  Besides music, he was a sports fan, and called himself a die-hard fan of the Montreal Canadians and The Toronto Blue Jays.  He treasured his dogs Jake and Chloe.  Stephen worked for 34 years as a Commercial Trailer Technician for what is now known as Universal Truck Trailer (formerly RST).

The family would appreciate donations in Stephen’s memory to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, NB for Visitations on Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 4-7pm.  A Memorial Service will be held at Sunbury Funeral Home on Thursday July 6, 2023 at 1pm with Rev. Blake Perrin officiating.
