Toole (Colwell), Thelma Arlene
It is with great sadness that the family of Thelma Arlene (Colwell) Toole of Fredericton Junction, NB announce her peaceful passing on July 8, 2025 at White Rapids Manor in Fredericton Junction, NB. Arlene was born on May 27, 1938 to the late Alta (Clark) and Arnold Colwell. She was the loving wife of Harold Toole.
Her Family was the center of her world. Arlene will be dearly missed by her husband Harold, daughters Patti (Michael) O’Donnell and Joy (Cyril Kingston) Toole, her son Dwight (Janet)Toole, her sister Jeannine Delorey, brother Gary Delorey, six grandchildren; Scott (Lisa), Andrew, Kevin, Shawn, Kyle (Kelly) and Ashton, a great grandson Parker, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arlene grew up in the Grand Lake area, where she developed a love of water and swimming. She met and married the handsome Harold Toole in 1957 and they would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in August. While raising her family in the Junction, she worked alongside her mother-in law Elda at the family store for many years. She was a faithful member of the Fredericton Junction Baptist Church.
She and Harold enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends. She was an avid curler and enjoyed snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, bicycling and square dancing in her earlier years. She spent a lot of time at the Tri-County Complex bowling and watching hockey games. Arlene loved all animals and during her time at White Rapids Manor especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She was often seen walking her dog around the Junction. She loved to bake and always shared with family and friends.
Along with her parents, Arlene is predeceased by two brothers; Darrell and Chris Colwell.
The family would like to thank the staff at White Rapids Manor for their outstanding care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited for Visitations at Sunbury Funeral Home on Sunday July 27, 2025 from 2-4 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday July 28, 2025 at 11am at the Fredericton Junction Baptist Church with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations in Arlene’s memory would be appreciated by the family to the Tri-County Complex or White Rapids Manor.
