Valerie Noreen (Mersereau) Nowlan

Nowlan, Valerie Noreen Nowlan(Mersereau) passed away peacefully at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John, NB on Sunday August 2, 2014. Born on August 23, 1922, In Claredon on the Ridge. She was the daughter of the late Evelyn (Allen) and Allen Mersereau and loving wife of the late Robert Nowlan (2007).

Valerie was a home maker to her family, She was a member of Saint Augustine’s Catholic Church and also of the Legion Branch #55.Valerie was a Dental Assistant during and after the war. She worked in Moncton after the war where she met her husband Bob and they married October 30, 1947. Valerie was a very loving and devoted wife and mother, she was always upbeat and had a fantastic sense of humor.  

Valerie is survived by her daughter Marthe (Ken) Cleveland, four sons; David Michael of Australia, Shawn (Pearl) of South Oromocto Lake, Peter (Diane) of Lower Sackville NS, Mark (Melissa) of Fredericton, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

 Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her son Bobby and her sisters Freda Mersereau and Lois Leger.

 Funeral service will be held on August 7, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Westfield NB.  Interment will take place at South Oromocto  Lake Cemetery, South Oromocto Lake, NB.
