It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wendy MacKenzie-Granger of Wirral, NB announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on May 3, 2023.  Wendy was born in Shelburne, NS on September 7, 1957, to the late Dorothy May (Cranton) and Basil Roy MacKenzie.  She was the loving wife of David Granger for almost 37 years.

Along with her faithful husband David, Wendy is survived by two daughters; Vicki (Adam) McLeod and Kendra Mackenzie-Granger, a son Daniel (Samantha) MacKenzie-Granger, three grandchildren; Alexander, Isaac and Arthur, two sisters; Stella Stuart and Sharon MacKenzie, a brother David MacKenzie, and many nieces and nephews.

Wendy was a kind and loving wife, mother and Nana (or called Hana) by her grandchildren.   She worked at many jobs over the years, but she really enjoyed her cleaning position at Base Gagetown.  Wendy was full of life and loved to laugh, she was very sociable and enjoyed many activities in the community such as bingo and being a member of the Hoyt Hospital Aide.  And, in her spare time, she was an avid reader, loved British Mysteries, listening to music, learning history, and playing cards and games with her family and friends. 

Besides her parents, Wendy is predeceased by four brothers; Maurice, Kevin, Jimmy and Shaw.

Wendy’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of 3 South West at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for the compassionate care they provided.

Family and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home in Central Blissville, Nb for public visitations on Monday May 8, 2023, from 4-6pm.  A public Memorial Service is being planned in Nova Scotia for July, 2023.
