I have just learned of Dr. Cabatu's passing and want to send belated condolences.  He was my very trusted doctor from 1965 until I left Fredericton in 1997 and I have fond memories of his kindness and humor - and care - over the years.  His was a life well lived in the service of others.

Dear Alanna, Judy and family,
  I was sad to hear of Mo's passing. He was a very kind man and dedicated doctor. He always had a smile and pleasant comment when meeting up in the surgeon 's lounge in mornings. I remember one day at the family practice meeting he stood up and asked if anyone minded if he didn't take call anymore. We had to laugh because most of the docs bowed out of call as soon as they were given the chance- at 55-60 years old. And here was Mo still taking call into his 70's! I respected and admired him.

Our thoughts are with you, Judy and family, at this time of sadness. You may remember that we were neighbours years ago in Sunshine Gardens, and Mo was Alan's doctor in the years we lived in Fredericton. Mo was always a kind friend and compassionate physician.

Dr. Cabatu was our family doctor for many, many years.  Thank you so much Dr. Cabatu for your many years of service to my family and for being a great doctor.  They do not make doctors like Dr. Cabatu anymore.  To Dr. Cabatu family and friends I send my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.  Hugs to you all!!!

My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Cabatu.  Always enjoyed him when he came into Radiology for a chart or to view xrays. He was always such the gentleman and always had a smile for you. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Oh my, I was just so shocked and saddened to read of the passing of Dr.Cabatu !! I've known this wonderful man for nearly 50 years. First as my family physician, and then many years working in the same clinic. I clearly remember, when I was studying to become a nurse at the Victoria Public Hospital School of Nursing, and  being the lowest '' man on the hierarchy '' of the medical personnel, Dr.Cabatu never, ever failed to speak to me whenever we would happen to meet in the hallway. It never seemed to matter who he was with, or if he was alone, he always spoke.I can't tell you just how good it made me feel that he would acknowledge me in that way. He always had my deepest respect. Judy, Alanna, Michael and family, I am just so sorry for your loss. I consider him a friend, and all will miss his '' jokes '' and his '' mischievous '' personality. Please accept my heartfelt condolences and know that many grieve with you. Sending each of you hugs. xoxo

Very sad to see him gone. Dr Cabatu was one of the first physicians I met in New Brunswick. He was always pleased to see you and always very welcoming, as was always his family. We will miss his presence.

Sorry to hear about Doc!! He was my doctor since I was twelve years old. If anybody knew me, doc did. I loved the way he always showed me pictures when diagnosing what was wrong.

My thoughts and sympathies are with the family at this time. I will not forget him.

My mother, Marie Mitchell was your husband's office nurse in the 1970's before her death in 1980.  I remember well how much she enjoyed her job with Dr. Cabatu.  He was a wonderful man and I know you and the family will miss him dearly.  You have my deepest sympathy.

My sympathy and thoughts are with you all. I will always be grateful to Dr. Cabatu (and his wife and daughter who worked with him) for the excellent care he gave me for 30 years. He was caring, knowledgeable and professional...a fine physician who devoted many years helping his patients. He was missed when he retired but would remember his patients and greet them with a smile whenever he saw them. A good man, he was.

My deepest sympathy to Judy, Alanna and family on the passing of Mo.  We always enjoyed his jokes and smiles when he dropped by to see us over the years.  He was always so pleasant to deal with.   Dr. Cabatu was respected and loved by his patients, staff and colleagues.
